How to choose a reliable employment agency?

Choosing a verified employment agency is the key to avoiding unpleasantness - fraud, formal errors or financial loss. Here are 7 criteria to look out for before you decide to work with one.

1. Legality and registration with the KRAZ

Check whether the agency is registered in the National Register of Employment Agencies (KRAZ). Operating without an entry is already a warning signal - it could mean illegal activity.

Also make sure it has the required licence and any certificates (e.g. ISO), and you can find its registered office details, TIN and basic information on the authority's website.

2. Online reviews and reputation

Look for reviews on Google, Facebook, GoWork, forums, groups - it's a treasure trove of information.

Ask friends of employers or candidates who have already worked with the agency. Satisfied employers and candidates are proof of reliability and honesty.

3. Effective candidate base

Evaluate the agency through the prism as well:

  • Industry specificity - do they have experience in your industry?

  • Variety of offerings - can they provide employees mobilised in a variety of roles?

  • Response time - do they deliver candidates in 24-48 hours?

The better matched your base, the faster you will strengthen your team.

4. Recruitment process - quality and legality

A trusted agency has:

  • trained recruiters,

  • refined candidate selection processes,

  • knowledge of local and foreign labour markets (if employing foreigners),

  • procedures for verification of documents and legalisation of work of foreigners.

This is important if you care about quality and legal compliance.

6. Human Resources and Payroll - all in accordance with the law

A reliable agency:

  • employs staff in accordance with the Labour Code,

  • pays Social Security contributions and taxes on time,

  • provides employee documentation (PIT, payroll),

  • provides occupational health and safety and medical care.

You are then assured that you will not expose yourself to legal or image consequences.

6. Realistic margins and rates offered

Too low a margin can mean:

  • savings at the expense of legality,

  • non-payment of contributions,

  • risk of delays in payments.

It is worth comparing - how much direct employment would realistically cost and whether the agency's margin covers the real services.

7. Contact, premises and support

A legitimate agency should have a permanent location - not operate solely through social media.

Provided contacts (email, phone) and support by a coordinator - this is important for comfort and quick response when problems arise.
